I have some files ( a firmware update and also a dubious exe file) that cannot be deleted. When i try in normal mode comp says its being used by another application. I searched in the taskmanger to find something weird but to no avail. In safe mode the same reply comes up when i try and delete the application. Both seem to run on Dos e.g when i click them and ask for properties it comes up with a properties box similar to that of a dos application.
I have Avg fully uptodate, antivirxp uptodate, kerio firewall, peerguardian, spybot, cccleaner too and none of these show any disturbance but i don't like not being able to delete something on MY computer. Any suggestions?? Replies will be appreciated.

    hi neilm247,

Not sure if this link will be of help http://www.superwin.com/index.htm. the download is only 342kb or somewhere near that. Some programs get get embedded in your registry and are extremely hard to delete. As with anything you download make sure you scan the file before opening it. Also I use advanced uninstaller (do a google search) I'm sure there is a trial version. It can delete anything that normal add/ remove function cannot perform. have a good day.

    neilm247,

Good job to search and find something that works for you. Thats what AD is about...helping, trying to help, or searching and finding the solution yourself and posting it here for all to see.

For some reason when i was checking the thread your response didn't come up,(must be the server delay). Thanks for the reply and the info about the other apps, i'll check them out.
