Hey, This is my first post here. I have burned .avi files with Nero 6.6.0.14 and they worked fine. I then took the copied disk and tried to do a straight disc copy and I keep getting errors. Burn failed at 4x or 2x. I don't have my log handy as i'm at work now. Any quick suggestions until I can get the log posted? Thanks.
Me again. Here is my log file if anyone can help that would be great! @twolf1999, This is an outdated Nero version, the latest one is 6.6.0.16, try to update and do your back up again. Try to free up some more of your memory if you can. This is a good media, so it's definitely not a "media" issue. Get rid of that "InCD" program if you can, this thing does no good to any of your back up/burning, especially if you're backing up with Nero. InCD will only causes you coasters, so try to "uninstall" it and once you're done, reboot your computer and try to back up again with another top or the same blank media you're using earlier. To completely uninstall "InCD", you need to get its clean tool, go here and down it - http://ww2.nero.com/enu/InCD_CleanTool.html - save it on a folder and run it once you've completed download the cleantool. Hope this help you a little.
i was about to say the same thing...regarding the TYG02s there seems to be a flooding of FAKE TYs lately here on AD. what is the brand for those TY coded discs you are using? also check the inner hub for authenticity verification...those should start with GD000xxx/GG000xxx (xxx being the batch number)
Wow you guys really know your stuff!! I got rid of the InCD and I got a copy to work! Before that (and I know you Nero nuts will hate me for this) I went ahead and got a copy of a friends Roxio Easy Media Creator and was succesful with that. I actually like the interface a little more so I may stick with that if I don't have any problems. Thank you so much for the help though. Concerning the media: I purchased the media from Shop4Tech. I got a 50 pack of inkjet printable DVD-Rs and some CD sleeves. Both items were on "backorder" and it took almost 3 weeks to get it (that's another story). Anyway they were advertised as Sonic brand. They have no brand markings anywhere, not even on the hub. I got these because they were the cheapest thing they had. They are supposed to be 8x, but I get more errors when I try to burn at 8x so I burn at 4. That is very interesting that they show up as TYs. At least I didn't pay the price for TYs, they were only like $18.50 for a 50 pack. From now on, I think I'll buy name brand stuff and not skimp. I know this is a question for another thread, but since I'm here, any suggestions on good inkjet printable DVD-Rs? Thanks again guys!!!
no worries. Hmmm, shop4tech. I'm not in the states but all I ever read about them are bad things. Definitely sounds like you got fake ty discs there.
Ps I don't use printables but the other guys will be able to advise on that, plus ways to to identify genuine ty and fake etc (well I can help with ty but I'll let the experts explain it)
