John, You are compounding his/her error by repeating the obvious mate, It would be better if you edit your message, it will be easier all round, I know it is frustrating but you are also shouting.

Hey sc0user - thanks for that info yesterday.
I grabbed the CDF that you gave but it didn't work (or seem to work) when I downloaded to the box using the interface (flash loader) - it actually just appeared to run through the firmware upgrade again despite the fact that I had browsed to the CDF on my desktop.
Just wanted to give you feedback on that...did I need to do anything specific to download the channel list??
In any case I went to your plan 'B' and just did a scan between the baud rates defined and everything worked fine. How long do you think this firmware will be good enough for before NTSmell react???
I've family looking for me now to fix their so I'll have my little workshop open soon... thank again for you help & also to Lenny if you're reading this...

Chopper79 - no issue. I thought a newbie might help another newbie!
Although I got a kurt reply from one of the mods about the msg I sent. I reckon it was cos I enclosed a link to BM toolbar. Anyway all sorted now.

Malci
Your comments have been taken on board, it's just soooooo annoying when we all know the story now.
And yes I was shouting, but I knew that, just having a tantrum

Same here on the CDF file.
Just did a power scan and all was well in the end.
Thanks, sc0user for the file anyway.

trelock: sending me private msgs asking for keys is useless as i live in the uk and do not have ch@rus keys.
besides its still against the rules to beg for keys and i do not want my private box filled up with requests like that.
hope that answered your question.

Did you by any chance happen to hit the 'top' download button instead of the one at the bottom?
The top download button is to flash the box, and the bottom section is for uploading/downloading your CDF file, the download of the CDF file should only take a few seconds.

I'm pretty sure I tried both....but it just seemed to kick-off the firmware upgrade again and not a channel download despite the fact that the file I had browsed to/selected was the required CDF.
Like I said not a biggie - I did a scan but just wanted to see if I could sort it as will have to repeat the download 2 or 3 more times....cheers.

For my part I did it right but it only downloaded 13 channels, so the scan brought in the rest

Hi sc0user,
Yeah I downloaded it in the lazy hope I wouldn't have to do anything else, but I did in the end, thanks anyway.
Must be something I did.
The new EPG is cool though...:-)

Lot more to it than just a faster keyroll..... believe me ;)
The SV EPG has always been bad, although improved on the SV3. Sorry to say you are stuck with it.
BTW I think what happened with my CDF was you didnt clear your channel data first before downloading it, presuming you are on N** Dublin.

Yeah, I am on NTHell Dublin.
Yep sounds like something I would do on the non-clearing of channels part. Not to worry, if I have to do one for somebody else I will know then.
Cheers

Try going into your menu and then the settings for screen size and select normal or letterbox size and save it at that.

Thanks for that but it is not working.
Just went into TV settings and it was already set up for letter box, tried to mess around with it but it not changing anything and it keeps on jumping size and it is very annoying.

its probably the format in which the prog is filmed in.
Do you have auto on your tv soemtimes we have to kepe changing box or tv from WS to letterbox to full auto etc etc depending on the channel and the fomrat its filmed in. adverts are fine. I think dependsing on the make model of tv ocne yove changed the format from 16:9 to say 4:3 you have to change tv channels or turn tv on/off again to set it. try that.

It happens in all the channels not just the one program, it used to work fine for the last few weeks since I have it updates and even this morning but now can even watch it as it jumps constantly. Do u think that I need to reprogram the box or reset it.

oh dunno sounds weird but well its worth a try! or do you have a diff scart socket to try, and have you checked that all leads are pushed in right - that might be a problem.
tbh ive never heard of this problem on here, maybe one of the experts will see this later and be able to help
