JVC GR-D275 noob question...

I bought this on a great deal recently, but later found out that the new PC (eMachines C3070) I bought 3 months ago doesn't have a firewire port. I know I have to get a PCI firewire card, but I can't decide on which is the best or most reasonable choice. I called up eMachines support and they told me that "any" will do, and that they're not allowed to make recommendations regarding aftermarket add-ons. I guess they're just trying to keep their warranty in tact by not suggesting any add-ons (that isn't eMachines approved/made). Big help. Anyway, I looked up CompUSA and Newegg online and there are so many products to choose from. I just want to able to get one that's compatible with my PC. I don't even know how many pins there are on the miniDV to buy the correct firewire cable to connect to the PC. Which, will (obviously) correlate to the PCI card I will need to get. I've checked with the JVC website, as well as JVC miniDV reviews, but no useful info. Can anyone help?
