I'm not overly computer minded but am trying to burn a movie onto a dvd with Nero. Every single time I try, my pc just shuts down in the middle of it. one question only... do you have VSO Softwares: CopyToDVD installed, or the latest version of the PatinCouffin driver ? if so remove it, cause this is what caused my computer to crash when burning cd's... PS: if this don't help, PM Rotary...

I'm lost while peeking at your long log. This log seems odd to me. Sorry, I can't help much. Hopefully, Mr.Creaky or other members with more knowledge will be able to solve your issue in due time.

He (Phantom69) means if that doesn't help, then you need to PM Rotary (Rotary is an experienced/knowledgeable member here at AD.com). PM means something like email in a way. Hope this help you a little.
@Jeddasw, The reason I said I'm lost is simply because I'm having a hard time trying make sense the log you posted. What software is the Nero you're using to do your burning i.e. Nero Express, NeroVision Express, Nero Burning Rom, Nero Recode 2, etc.? If by chance can you go to "C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero\NeroHistory" and post your error log in here? Alcohol, I have everything Nero....am trying to burn a dvd using Nero Vision Express. Tried to find Nero History and don't seem to have it...even did a search for it...nothing. Rachel
i've skimmed thru the thread for now and see we might need a Nerovision logfile. i think it's in c:\documents and settings\<username>\ahead\nero\nerovision.txt, can't remember exactly. try doing a searching in c:\ drive for anything called nerovision.txt. In the meantime i'll look thru the thread to see what's been suggested so far...
@Jeddasw, Try this C:\Program Files\Ahead\NeroVision\NeroFiles\nero (text documents) and see if it's in there. Mr. Creaky is here, so you don't need to worry. He's one of the most experienced or perhaps the most knowledgeable member on Nero at AD.com. Not only that, but he'll help to solve your problem from the start until you give up.
@Jeddasw - Still haven't read thru the entire thread yet, have just summarised the info-tool log output for now, will read the entire thread afterwards.. - burner's firmware seems to be up to date - http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2011 if you don't use 'packet writing software' such as Nero's InCD, it might be worth uninstalling it. If uninstalling - uninstall Nero, uninstall completely via Nero Clean Tools - " http://www.nero.com/en/Clean_Tools.html ", then reinstall Nero bits 'n pices WITHOUT installing 'InCD' - wow, that's barely sufficient to run Windows XP alone, never mind DVD work on top. you should try to buy more memory, another 256MB would be sufficient (though i personally found Nero to struggle with 512MB so i went to 1GB and no more problems for me) As i say, i still haven't read the whole thread but if the movie you're trying to burn is already in dvd format, ie it's been converted from a downloaded file or whatever, then you can use just Burning Rom to burn in straightforward dvd-video format. Nerovision is used if the movie needs to be first converted into dvd-video firmat (though there are various different products that can do that conversion, and then use standard Burning Rom to burn the movie. @alkohol - cheers for the kind words (as ever!), though i only use Burning Rom myself as have no need for any other programs (not trying to erode sales of Nerovision but any movie conversions i ever do are done with freebie tools, and that's why Burning Rom is sufficient for all my movies). what i lack in experience with other products i make up for my attacking the logfiles/posts
