Getting video from DVD to computer to edit WITH SOUND - please help! - repost as not sure where to post

Hi,

I am making a dvd from personal footage. When I get the files from the dvd (vob format) they play fine in the video editor (power director 3) but there is no sound NO MATTER WHAT I DO.

Please help! *there is sound when I play them in media player

Is there anyway to improve the original sound volume of the voices but not the background noise please?

Try convert them to avi (or meeg) and edit them and burn to DVD...
