At last!! First of all, Nero support is useless. This forum helped me fix the problem of failed burns that left the dreaded "illegal disk" error message. Here is a summary of what worked and what didn't. My burner is a Sony DRU 710A operating within Windows XP. Upon installation of the burner I updated the firmwear so that was not an issue. I also was fairly up to date with NERO but I did update to the latest 6.6.0.16 version. That update did nothing to fix the problem. I was using Maxell media and I was told to use what Sony suggests (Verbatim, TDK, Sony or Taiyo). Changing media to TDK (8X) did not fix the problem. This forum mentioned that I was burning to close to the edge and I should keep it under 4400 when using DVD Shrink 3.2 for the rip. Following that advice FIXED THE PROBLEM no matter if I am using TDK or Maxell media!! GREAT JOB FORUM!
