So I want to create a vcd with some videos that I have on my computer. When I choose to open the files and add them, it says on the bottom S[vcd]. Meaning sources for vcd with the listed extensions. I have a lot of videos that have .wmv extensions. Will the Nero convert those as well because when I continue, i always get a conversion error? thanks on any advice.

What program are you trying to use, I always use NeroVision to make my VCDs. I have never had any problem with wmv files except using videos that were in WMV V7 or WMV V8 , no problems with WMV 9. I have used Nero itself to make a very simple VCD and it did include some wmv files. Is you Windows Media Player up to date? It could be that your using an old version of the Windows Media Codec and its causing Nero prblems when it trys to utalize it. Hope this helps, if still having the same outcome post back.

Wnen im adding my files to list, i get the following error: The file blah blah is invalid-need mpeg-1 which was encoded for Video-CD.
    The following problems were found:
-stream encoding which is invalid for [Super] Video CD
    -no video
    -no audio

So then I click ok. When i finally click on burn in the right bottom corner, it says encoding. After a minute and a half, this error shows up:"Unkown error in the Video MPEG encoder". What gives? Thanks again.

From the sounds of it Nero thinks that you are trying to import MPEG-1 files that are already in the format of a VCD. I did a test and found if I renamed one of my WMV files to have an extention of MPG then I would get the same error. If you can single out your files that contain Windows Media and give them the extention of Windows Media Video (wmv) or you just give them the extention AVI (lowercase) then Nero should convert them to VCD format for you.

Edit: What the MPEG encoder is trying to do is just touchup the files as if they were VCD files just to make sure they were to Nero's likeing.
