    Hi

I'm trying to encode some SVCD that will play in my Standalone DVD with TMPGEnc 12a, using the VBR SVCD PAL template. No problem encoding. But when I play it The picture is totally srcambled and the sound stops every 5 sec.

The same thing happens with bbmpeg using VBR SVCD PAL template.

I have also encoded with LSX-Mpeg Encoder 3.5 using VBR SVCD PAL tamplate and this encoder make SVCD files that are playable, but the quality is rotten compared to the above.

What is the major diffrences between these 3 encoders regarding VBR SVCD PAL.

    Hope you can help

Try viewing the MPEG files first on your PC (using, eg. PowerDVD) to narrow down the problem. Also make sure that you are not encoding interlaced MPEG2 - most DVD players can't view them properly.

VCDHelp.com has an MPEG2 encoder comparison available at:
