    Welcome to aD!
Here's some things I could sort out:
latest firmware is A115 - update your firmware. Here's a link:
    http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_result.php?kaj=1&isces

Directly correlated. Nero is saying it doesn't like your media and CMC is one of the worst. Switch to a quality brand like Taiyo Yuden or verbatim datalifeplus.
Hopefully Creaky will come along and pick up on anything I missed.

i cant seem to d/l the firmware it says :

Save_as function is not temporarily supported.
Please just click & open the file. Then, save the file in your PDF reader.
Save_as function will be supported once again ASAP.

so the best way is to take these dvds back and get a diff brand..
    Thanks for the quick response

    not sure,
    disks maybe?...they are crap (cmc)
you have powerful pc,so should be ok
maybe a software conflict.....if you have INCD installed...>get rid
    do a defrag also,and a virus scan

best of luk,and stick to no faster than x 4

I just got the same message. I have been able to burn discs all along. I ran into a movie that DVD Shrink would not shrink so I figured it was time to try a DL disc. I used Shrink to copy all the files apprx 8 Gb`s to a folder. I also used Nero to make an 8 GB image file. They both failed with the disc at once error message at the beginning of the burn. I am using Memorex DVD+R DL discs. Before anyone gets upset about Memeorex crap, DVD Info Pro says they are made by Ritek. I am using Nero version 6.6.0.14 . I not only have burned sucessfully before this DL disc , but I have also burned sucessfully after. So I do not think it is a hardware or software problem. Any sugestions on how to copy this disc ??????

I got the message before anything was burned. So as far as I can tell the DL discs are still blank. The single layer discs that I burned before and after this DL disc play in my DVD player perfectly, with NO problems.

As a matter of fact , I am burning another disc as I surf. Norton AV and Firewall running, with Peer guardian, Webroots Spysweeper , all running and NOT giving me a problem. I shut ALL down when I try somthing new , and when I tried this DL disc.

@72morgan hi :) why are you putting it through shrink?
burning to a DL disc should be a straight foreward
DVD Decrypter in read mode , then write mode . or burn with nero. which ever is your prefered burning method.
nothing wrong with your media provideing they id

As gurnard said use decrypter for dl discs. You'll need to read and write in iso mode then pick the mds file to burn.

I used Shrink mostly because it was out of habit. And then I would use Nero to burn. I also have AnyDVD 5.4.1.1 running in the background , so I figured that with the protection disabled I could use Nero to make an image and then use Nero to burn its own image. Obviously witn No sucess. I have since used DVD Decryptor to rip and burn my movie.[ almost 50 minutes at 2.4X , this brings back memories] It completed the burn sucessfully, sorta. On playing back the movie , the movie is fine/perfect. The extras etc on the disc are unreadable, totally pixellated.[ Are they on the second layer ??? ] This is not totally unacceptable since I normally do not copy the extras with Shrink.[I did pick the mds file to burn.] This is my first try at burning a DL disc , so hopefully the learning curve will be short. At $3.50 a disc this can get expensive.[ They are Ritek discs]

    @ 72morgan hi :)
pleased to see your getting there. that's the only drawback at the moment with DL 2.4x speed
having said that, even if they increase the recording speed. i will stick to 4x or less

hi, another newb here. I used to insert a dvd into my laptop, start shrink v 3.2, click open disc, choose D: drive, wait, then click backup, and finally start the burn process.... and the computer would do the rest. I've successfully burned 7 out of 8 discs, which all came from the same box set (so they're the same type of discs). On the 8th one, I get "could not perfoem disc at once" error message. Why did it fail all of a sudden? I burned that 8th one right after the 7th one is finished. Now my burner won't copy any other DVDs, but it would still burn audio CDs though. Here's the log I'd get if I tried to copy any DVD at all. I'd appreciat all the help and support I can get. Plz plz help me and thanks for your time in advance.

    Thanks, ur grl.
