I have a bunch of mp3 songs I want to burn to CD. I go through the burn process using Nero's Express Audio Option and find after burn, when I play it on my radio CD player, and stereo CD player, that the tracks contain two halves of songs starting in the middle of the song (at the beginning of the track), and then half way through the track the song ends and starts the next song, ending half way through that (at the end of the track), which then the next track picks up the rest of the song it cut off, etc. etc.. For whatever the reason, my songs are being divided into half each track with 2 halves of songs on a track, instead of one whole song per track. I cannot understand why it's doing this, so I did a image of the music files saving the .nrg file, and mounted that image, played them on my computer, they weren't split, so then I did a burn of that image file to CD and again they were split! So then, I redid a new image file of the mp3 songs, saved it, burned it to CD using Alcohol 120, and STILL songs are split! To me it seems that something is happening with converting them to audio in Nero. I do not have another burning program that converts mp3 to compare. I'm hoping someone else has experienced this problem and knows the fix. That 2 second pause between tracks in the middle of a song isn't exactly desirable...
No, my kids radio CD players are not MP3 enabled. They've had them for a couple years now and I don't see any reason to buy them all new ones. It's just strange this problem. It's been awhile since burning an audio CD and don't recall having the problem while back. I'm hoping someone will have experienced this same problem and have a troubleshoot solution for it... I'll keep a lookout on my post hoping for one... Thanks
I think I've solved my problem. It's the only change I'd made so I assume, for whatever the technical reason, that it did the trick. I opened my MP3 songs in Winamp v5.08d. Using the ID3 tag editor I took out -ALL- the ID3 tag info to nothing, and then burned them to audio CD using Nero (6 Ultra Edition). They play fine, without a hitch, on all the CD devices I have accessible in my home. Now, thankfully, my kids can listen happily away to the Hamster Dance and other nerve racking songs. KIDS gotta love'em -- thanks to all that contemplated a response, and to the one that did. If I had more money I would certainly update my own, and children's, tech-accessories...
glad you got it sorted (i was watching the thread from the beginning, but didn't have anything to offer yet). i do all my mp3 to cd burning via Nero, have done for a long time. I myself don't like all those tags, if for no other reason than the track names are different in winamp to how i want them. In older versions of winamp it was easy to turn off the tags, but in 5.x it's a pain in the backside. I have never experienced the gap in songs, and i'm sure i've missed the odd track (i not taken all the tags off all tracks) in my compilations and still not had a problem, but will definitely keep this in mind. Even on my 20GB mp3 player which i use heavily at work, i can't stand have the tracks having tagged names. for albums i've converted to mp3 from proper audio cd's, i prefer to have the track names as 'Audiotrack 01' etc (as long as the artist/album name is correct at least i can find stuff. I used to spend far too many hours/days going thru and renaming tracks nicely/removing tags, but now i just can't be bothered with all that hassle, i just want to play songs!
I see. I was asking because sometimes newbies(myself included when I first started) don't know to make an .iso data disc with .mp3 on it. When I burn an audio CD from mp3 I use GoldWave 4.26 and batch convert them all to 16 bit signed stereo .wav. Then I use Bulk Rename Utility to stick numbers on the front of the track names to make sure the order Nero burns 'em. Works great. Plus Nero is just burning straight from .wav to audio so there's less chance for stuff to go wrong. It's weird though. Since I found out my DVD player will play .iso DVD with tons of .mp3 I get tired tryin' to think of how to fill up the disc!! If it ain't one problem it's another.
