    Hi,

I have a Handycam with a mini tape cassette. I want ot capture the footing from this cassette to the PC. My PC does NOT have a ideo capture card. The handycam and PC can be connected by a USB cable. How do i store the handycam video into the PC? Do i really need a capture card? I trust that some one somewhere in this forum will be able to guide me. Thanx and regards.

I assume that you have a miniDV camcorder.
If this is the case, you should not use the USB connection to transfer the video to your PC. Instead of that you have to use the Firewire connection. On your camcorder this connection may also be called iLink or DV-out. You just need a Firewire connection on your PC, not a capture card.

    Hi TPFKAS,

Thank you so much. Yep, i use a miniDv handycam. I was just worried whether i should go for a capture card or not. Now i need only buy a i-link cable.

    Thanx again.
