    Hello everyone,

Just found about this wonderful forum. I'm a real newbie when it comes down to this sort of media stuff, and simply wanted one question answered. First of all I'll go over my system:

Has a DVD-ROM drive, however not a DVD-RW compatible. Plenty of HD space, 120GB with XP Professional.

Now, I want to know if I can watch video's (movies) I download off these P2P programs on my DVD player? The files are .AVI. I've read some things in the forum, and what I get so far is I have to convert the movie file to VCD format, then I can copy on a normal CD-R?

I apologise if this place has gone through tons of threads similar to this, however I don't have much of a clue as to what the vocabulary you use here to figure things out on my own.

    Thanks.

The only thing I have found to work is using a program called TMPGE to convert it to MPEG (a video format) and use the ezcd creator 5 vdc burning wizard to put it to a cd. It will play in most dvd players and allmost all computers with the right media programs. My old pentium 200 mhz could play them
