Hello: I have a strange problem with Nero. I am trying to back up The Sopranos Season 2. I decrypt with DVDFav Decrypter. I use Nero Recode 2 in recode entire movie. Then burn with nero express. The resulting dvd plays only the menus on my dvd player, but when I try to select an episode it hangs the dvd player. It happend with disc 1 and 2. I tried the same dvd with my pc and it played perfectly with Nero Showtime and windows media player. Now for the strange part. I have a mac powerbook, so I copied both dvd's with my mac (disc 1 and 2) with mactheripper and compressed it with dvd2onex (disk copy), and it played perfectly on my dvd player, so I guess the media is ok. Any idea how to make Nero burn the dvd so I can play it on my dvd player??? Thanks Jonathan.
After ripping try using DVD Shrink or another method that produces an .iso image. Then just burn the .iso image with Nero Burning ROM. You can test your .iso image using Daemon Tools before burning. Stuff doesn't always act the same as it will on your stand-alone player so it's a good idea to get a 5 pack of DVD+RW if your DVD player will play them for test burns. Any time you try something different or are having problems test on the DVD+RW until you're confident you're getting good burns. Then go back to DVDR. To me the Nero tools are not intuitive at all. So I gave up and just use Nero Burning Rom. I do all video conversions formatting and authoring with freeware/shareware and just burn with Nero.
