what is if there is the best way to download a movie in which format asf,avi,mov,mpeg,mpg,rm,swf,wmv, idownload from a site and it lets you pick the type of download you want, ijust want to burn these movies to dvd if i can get the quality to look good and sound good also i have some movies downloaaded thatdont sound the greatest is there a program i can down load to make it look and sound better, i dont care how long the program would take i just want quality and good sound but can i make it better if the source i downloaded is not the greatest, thanks for all the help
avi,mov,mpeg,mpg,rm and asf/wmv are containers, they can contain numerous different streams. Although in the case of wmv/asf (same thing, although wmv should contain newer codecs) it is a MS container so it will contain MS codecs (MS MPEG4, Windows Media Video, etc.), rm is from real networks so it will contain real codecs, although not RV9 since that would be rmvb. mpg/mpeg will generally contain MPEG1/2 although it can contain ASP or AVC MPEG-4. avi and mov are more broad in what they can contain, despite the fact that avi is MS and mov is apple. Next issue is that even if you knew what codecs they were using, it still doesn't tell you which would look the best. As for making stuff look and sound better. Nothing you can really do.
I usually downloads .avis then bang them into the new VSO divxtodvd. the put those .vobs into nero recode, burn at 4x any have a good night! It's probably best to just download .vob files in the first place that saves alot of time and effort
