liteon lvw 5101

    have a liteon lvw 5101---downloaded upgrade---still will not recognize any disc----any suggestions as to what i am doing wrong----using sony dvd-r 120min 4.7 gb 1x-8x dvd's

    Try a DVD+R.

     ... My LiteOn LVW-5005 likes the +R discs a lot better than the -R ... I believe that the LVW-5101 ONLY records to +R, so I'd say don't use -R discs in this machine ...

      .. My LiteOn is most compatable with the Verbatim +R discs and it doesn't seem to matter if they're 1x-4x, 1x-8x or 1x-16x ..
