    - your firmware's way out of date, JS0C is here - http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2026

    - DMA needs to be ON, fix it via this - http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/FAQ.htm

    - if the firmware update & DMA fix doesn't help, try better media

    - InCD is Nero's packet writing software. Uninstall Nero, uninstall completely via Nero's Clean Tools - " http://www.nero.com/en/Clean_Tools.html " and reinstall Nero WITHOUT installing InCD, it can interfere

    Thanks Creaky B;

    Just upgraded the firmware to JS0C and it didn't make any difference.

    The the DMA won't stay on for the Optorite burner but not using it anyway and the hard drive is a SATA and can't set DMA on for that.

    I use the InCD all the time and can't do without it unless I redo about 30 discs, was hoping I wouldn't have to work without it.

    I have tried 3 different kinds of media all with the same results.

    I guess I will get rid of InCD and see if that works and if it does then I can convert those InCD discs to regular format.

    Thanks - Cyber Guy

    OK, cool, have a fiddle and see what you come up with..

    but re the Optoprite - if you're not using it or can't fix the DMA you should remove it, as the other (IDE) drives will be pulled down to the speed of the Optorite.
