    Risky but possible.

Open Nero Burning ROM, select the DVD Copy Icon on the left.

Under "Copy Options" check the "On the fly" box.

I'd use a slow burn speed because you don't want your writer writing faster than your reader can pull the data off the original.

@snowbo, I have used, and use it quite often, Intervideo Copy 3 which allows you to burn on the fly. As long as the movie does not require compression or it's a movie that has already been compressed and you just want to make a back-up of that movie, then Intervideo Copy 3 allows you to burn on the fly. I have used this prog, consistently (including on-the-fly-burning) with no problems. I burn at 4x or slower. Only problem is that Intervideo cannot be adjusted with burn speed so you need to use media (I use Taiyo Yuden 4x, or Maxell 4x), or then I will just HD and burn with NERO or Copy to DVD, but you are not wanting to go to HD, so I would encourage you to Download a trial of Copy 3 from www.intervideo.com and give it shot. Hope this helps!
