Can anyone help, am new to dv capturing, previously had an analogue camcorder.
Just sold that and bought a JVC mini-DV, and also a firewire card and lead.

Already have Ulead dvd movie factory 4 on the PC but when I go to capture from digital camera, i get a pop up saying "no video capture driver available".
I also get this message when trying to capture with virtualdub.
There was nothing on the cdrom with the camera, or with the firewire card.

Can anyone tell me where I can get this driver?? (Am using XP-pro)

    Thanks.

I had this problem and it was the firewire card that was not slotted in properly. Check in device manager to see if it is on there. If not it's probably not fitted properly.

There is no driver required for a Firewire card under XP. It's plug and play. Gatemaker is right: it shoul be visible in the device manager (as IEEE1394 Host Controller)

This is very strange. If you fit in a standard Firewire card and turn on your PC, the "new hardware found" ballon will popup from the tray and after a while it should report that the hardware is installed and can be used.
Remove your card, boot the system without it, turn off, install the card and boot again.
