this is totally off topic but i was wondering if any one has a ddreamcast. And if so i was wondering if you need to mod it to play burned games or use boot loaders. I know it is compeletely off topic but there is no dreamcast fourm. thanks
im not sure but i think that all dreamcast systems are modded but i am sure that some dreamcast game need booting but not all.
You can use a boot CD for Dreamcast just go here http://www.megagames.com/dc/dc_utils_bootcd.shtml and download a Utopia image and burn it out (might have to test out a few kinds of media brands to find one that will work). Then go and search for Dreamcast game downloads because you can't just copy them like a PS1 or PS2. I usually use Discjuggler for my images I download (.cdj I think) but read up on that site for more info.
The early Dreamcasts would play backups fine. Then came the second version and you needed the Utopia boot disc. I forget the cutoff date, sorry. There were/are so many people selling cheap backups it's easier to buy them than d/l your own.
