Well, for starters you need to back up your info somehow. Whether it be by DvD-Rs, CD-Rs, External HDD, or another internal hdd. Another option would be to clone your existing disk.

If your were to restore you PC back to factory status, would that partition deleted be recreated?? If so, and you don't have another hdd to clone you current drive you could try this:
Partition your current hdd so you can install the recovery discs. Once that is completed you will be able to transfer all the files need from the old partition to the new partition. Once that's done you will be able to delete the old partition and resume like normal once your programs and prior updates have been reinstalled.

I suggest you use Partition Table Doctor to resolve your
problem. The software provides very useful functions:
Backup partition table, Restore partition table, Rebuild
partition table, undelete partition, Fix boot sector,
    rebuild mbr,etc.

First thing I recommend you download the demo version of
    Partition Table Doctor.( http://www.ptdd.com/download.htm )

Run the program and select "Rebuild Partition Table",
    then choose "Interactive" mode.

thanx to all your replies i have discovered that i had made a 8 CD recovery set that came with my hp (a program pre-installed)if any of you have a computer with this capability installed, make sure you do this a soon as possible to prevent any major problems like i had...

when you have created the disk keep them in a safe place and hope that you never have to use them (make sure you know where they are because you can usualy only make one set of discs...

PS: what happened when i used the disks <?>
it completely erased my computer HD including all my windows and linux partitions and created the old 2 set of partitions (OS & Recovery)

    PSS: create the backups...
