i downloaded a file recently which gspot says is encoded in mpeg 2 but i am unable to play it i just get some wierd green and black and sometimes multicolored lines and blocks. I downloaded the mpeg2 codec but it hasnt helped. Pls advice.
which player did u use to play it with? try using BSplayer or VLC. I personally prefer BS Player bcos it looks nicer. u might wanna take a look at this as well: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/48608
With Mpeg-2 files it is Good to use a software DVD Player like PowerDVD or WinDVD because they will install the Correct mpeg-2/AC3 decoders for your system.....
ummm...none of this worked. could it be because i installed the ace codec 6.03 pack some time back. even some of my quicktime files don't seem to work correctly. neither do any .ts hi-def files. though avi's and divx etc work fine
