Hi I have a question. my nero startsmart wont ever open when i click on the desktop icon, i guess it kinda opens but not so as i can use it, if i open task manager it is there in the processes taking up like 80% of my cpu. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing it and that worked for a day or two then it goes back the the same, anybody got any ideas, it is more of an annoyance than anything as i can still burn dvd and cd by going through the start menu and selecting nero vision express, would be nice to use startsmart again tho without having to reinstall it every time i want to use it. thanks
Nero programs seem to have a tendency to screw up if you move them around, add or remove other DVD programs, etc. They make a tool to get the registry settings back to where they should be. That is the first thing I would run. I added the Registry Checker and Driver Cleaner to a Nero Toolkit and put it on my site. Here is the .zip download: http://www.dvdplusvideo.com/Nero Toolkit.zip Once you get everything extracted, run the Registry Checker.exe and Driver Cleaner.exe. The Registry Checker will fix any Nero installation errors and the Driver Cleaner will make a list of drivers that conflict with Nero and then give you the option to remove them. If you still have problems, run the Nero InfoTool, save the results to your PC(Saving it makes a .txt file). Copy paste the .txt file into a reply and we can see what is going on.
