Error ripping a VCD *.dat file w/VCDGear, please help

Using VCDGear gave me this error:

Specified DAT file has an invalid XA header signature

and:

Corruption might occur for non-valid pack sized MPEGs

I tried using VCDEasy and recieved this error:
unknown chunk id [] encountered (The file is not a MPEG file with Riff header [.dat file])

basically told me it wasn't a DAT file and it wouldn't convert it to mpeg. I have downloaded TMPGEnc but have yet to understand how to use it.

Do I have a corrupt file and just need to forget it?
Will TMPGEnc do any better? If so, any links for help or advice is welcome.

I had a bin of the VCD, used ISOBuster to extract it the *.dat file, and got this error, could this be a problem?

Thank you,
