Okay, I have backed up quite a few movies using dvd shrink/decrypter. I have ANYDVD running in the background, and I still can't get this movie to work. I thought I might have a bad pressing, so I brought the movie back and got a new one. I had the same problem in the same spot. I tried ripping it in file mode with decrypter and I get an error every time. I thought ANYDVD could handle this...Any input would be appreciated, this is driving me crazy. Thanks.
hi not to sound funny but i have read here some concerns with this movie, cant remeber the whole story so you may want to search AD for some threads on it while waiting for help.... have you tried dvd shrink with anydvd? also change from anydvd to dvd43, set dvd decrypter to aggressive rip method, and have you set the region code in DD? also try different cracking methods eg: brute force etc etc
Hi, yes I do have Any Dvd running in the background. When using Shrink, it analyzes up to 99% then stops and gives an error.
nope its the same program ,remember you get lifetime updates when you buy it and if you type in "afterdawn" when buying it you will save 10 bucks and also CloneDVD 2 works great with anydvd so you might consider getting both
This is how you copy XXX state. Rip with decrypter then burn with shrink. Thats it all done. (by the way I remove all special features to improve compression)
I must be retarded if it is that easy...I tried for hours last night to get it to work. With decrypter, it goes until around 50% then it stops...I have backed up some of the other "problem" dvds like Hitch and Are We There Yet with decrypter, but not XXX...I guess I should just give up
Once again ED CloneDVD 2 and anydvd WILL DO THE MOVIE download the free trial and backup the movie damnit
I downloaded clonedvd and guess what...the exact same error that happened in dvdshrink happened in the same spot!!!!!!!!!!!I wish I knew what I was doing wrong now!!!??!
My advice would be to watch the movie first and then decide if you want to copy it. I think you might change your mind.....No really, Try to copy just the movie w/ no extras If nothing works Ill give you my copy.
Could be a bad pressing of the original. I used AnyDVD and Shrink with no problem. Haven't watched it yet though. Hope I didn't waste a Ty!
Your not retarded. I have the same problems sometimes. I have two burners identical, and when my primary machine cannot do a movie I switch to my other machine and then it works fine. Why this is I donno slight out of alignment thats too sensitive for one machine on the movies copy protection I donno. If you have just one burner then try other copier, if I can do it and others then its your system and method. Keep trying dont let hollywood win!
@ed1275 Try cleaning the disk it is either dirty, scratched, smudged or has an imperfection. If it does not work take it back and get another original it is a bad press.
I get what some of you are saying about the movie, it isn't exactly the greatest ever, it is just the principle! It is not worth going to get a third copy to see if it is the disc, so I will try one more time to back up before I give up. Thanks for your input though.
See if the Firmware of your Burner is up to date also.... In Dvd Decrypter go to tools then Drive and check for firmware updates... See if your firmware needs updating.. Maybe it needs to be updated to read the disc... Wouldn't hurt to be up to date either
Now I will show how much of a newbie I am, I went to update my firmware and I get this quote-"These pages are only for advanced users. Bad flashing could destroy your drive definitively. Read carefully the installation notes of your firmware before you upgrade. The Firmware Page and the drive manufacturer can't be responsable on REMEMBER: This is at your own risk!!!!" This sounds scary to me, what is updating firmware and will it really harm my computer?
I have heard your issues with this movie and quite possibly with your system. I actually back-ed this up...I agree not the greatest movie, but just o.k...I'm also a collector, so I collect a lot of movies, yes some I will probably never watch again, yet I still back it up...it's a great hobby and I want to best quality. I have found that AnyDVD is great...just simply GREAT. Never a problem and I use that in conjunction with multiple programs...CLoneDVD2, Intervideo Copy 3 (I love the quality, inspite of the two issues that I had with the prog. and I have sent e-mails to Intervideo), but I love Rebuilder Pro/CCE. @ed, I backed this up using both ANYDVD/CloneDvd 2 combo, and Intervideo Copy 3. Both no problems. I do not use Shrink as often as others, but on the advice of arniebear I have begun to use Recode 2 for a couple of back-ups, worked great and looked great...not as great as Rebuidler Pro/CCE Basic, but it was less time and didn't require a lot of compression so I let Recode 2 have a shot. Was pleased, but I still like the three that I speak about a lot Rebuilder Pro/CCE basic, Intervideo Copy 3, and CloneDVD2 with ANYDVD in the background. But, what works on my system might not work well with yours. Download the trial versions and just see which one works with your system. MovieDud
