I just purchased the Panasonic DMR-ES30VS DVD/VHS combo without knowing I could not make copies of my copyrighted VHS tape collection. I need your help before making another wrong decision. I think now I should have purchased some sort of Mac interface and went into my computer...maybe another system soon. I'm not sure if going output to input on the same machine will work. It depends if there are 2 different sections for the VCR and DVD. What will work if you have another VCR available is use the VCR as the player, run the output of that VCR into the FACET BOX, then the output of the BOX to the input of the dvd recorder. All you can do is try your first setup and see if it works. Like I said it all depends on the internal input/output wiring of the combo unit. Jerry
