I have posted before I was building a pc, but I never asked bout the psu. I was looking at newegg and most of the cases...peeps said the psu's were garbage. So what can you guys recommend? I keeping hopping on mobo and chip ideas due to budget concerns, but i think im going for the amd clawhammer 3500+ 512 l2 cache socket 939 and gigabyte mobo.Whichs puts me at 350.00 bucks. So can you recommend a psu that can handle it....plus two harddrives...a dvd/cd writer...and a floppy. Also out of curiousty is sony a good writer? I seen on newegg they had a dual layer dvd/cd writer for $70.00 bucks. Thanks for your time :> What does dual 12 volt mean? Most of the psus on newegg say no dual 12 volt
The VAN-520A is a good one. 620W: http://www.vantecusa.com/product-powersupply.html# (VANTEC) It will handle what you're gonna purchase.
Hey unique looks good...thank you. Are atrix any good? Im buying a case from newegg. Its a atrix with power supply. Or is it just a blazing paper weight waiting to nuke my mobo..lol. Im just curious if I still should get better is all. Thank you :>
Heres the link for the case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811209018 If you look at the pics..they have a clear shot of the label specs for the psu. It looked alright holding 17 amps at 12 volts. But since this is my first build I had to ask. Hey while we are on the subject what does dual +12 support mean?
Ok thanks unique. Good thing is the case has a one yr warranty which im assuming covers the psu. Pretty wicked case for cheap huh? I like the dragon. Cant wait to have my sytem running. And I will be running windows 64 bit. Im gonna be living large..lol. Thanks for your time unique...I really appreciate it. :> I was only curious what the dual support was, because very few psus have it..most dont.
