hello everyone, my cd-rw drive is now really screwed up, every time i insert a blank cd-rw and try to access it, it says: F:/ is not accessible Incorrect function. This all occured the drive was dead and didn't even work. The user ddp helped me solve that but now this is the problem. I have tried using different cds but it was the same. The drive can read installation cds though. The drive model is LG 8160B.
it sounds lke the laser is ready to burn out or is dirty what was the problem last time and how was it solved? Have you tried or thought about purchasing a new drive?, you can pick up drives that can read and write everything at decent speeds for as cheap as £40 ($75-$80) it would be a good improvement over what you have. bbmayo, in which case it was the combined efforts of you, ddp and me, and a peppering of Neph on top - i had a load of posts i'd subscribed to, appear with mindless one-liners/one-worders, so i did som searching and found all his/her posts were the same
