i plan on getting a larger HD and will xp reconize it as the full 200 gig? i plan on setting it as a slave. i know XP wont reconize anything over 120 or 125 im not sure. or will it? i may go larger than 200 gig if cash allows.

It would reconize cause a lot of stores sell xp with 160 gigs or 250

Also you need to make sure the bios in the comp can handle it. Some older comps dont recognize a drive over a certain gig. In that case...im not sure...but a promise or similar contoller can allow you to use a bigger drive with your older pc. Like for example the dell I have dont recognize over 128 ram and 80 gig hardrive. So it wouldnt even boot with two 80 gigs up to it...only with the promise card it would. A promise card is like 20 bucks at newegg. Do some research on promise site and it may tell you what gig drive it can read andf handle. Also the best way that I learned from this forumn is if you have to ide channels on your mobo....set the primary boot drive as master on the primary and the sceondary drive as master on the secondary ide. Then your roms as slaves.

Also you might need the promise cause I had a hp and the second hardrive would run at pio mode which was slowing the comp down. So I needed a promise so both can run at dma. Hope this helps:>
