Hi, I have encoded a movie and burnt it...but when I watched the second CD the last part of the movie had a frame that freezed...the movie continued with only audio to the end. I have decided to encode it again as I played the second CD movie back on my computer and it played well. When I started encoding it again...I noticed around 81% that the part of the movie that froze had indeed did it again in the encoding process. What can I do to fix that? If I encode that part of the movie again...how can I be sure it won't happen again? Why will it play back on the computer fine...but encode like that?? Thanks, Cirsinn
Ok so, before you encoded what was the file? if it was a .avi divx then open it in virtualdub. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_tools/virtualdub.cfm Now, click video and select direct stream copy. Scroll at the end to the bad frame, notice virtualdub should get stuck too but what we are going to try and do is cut out that bad frame! when you get to the frame or a few frames bad then look at the buttons at the end of virtualdub. The last two are start selection and end selection! Click the startselection button before the bad frame and then try and scroll past the bad frame and click end selection. Then click edit and delete selection! Now before you save anything, try and play through the area that was bad and play to see if the audio is still in sync! If it is then click file - save as avi!
HI, I downloaded the virtualdub but when I went to open the video file...an error came up stating that it couldn't locate the decompressor for format xivd. Also saying...virtual dub requires video for windows compatible codec to decompress video.Directshow codecs such as those used by windows media player are not suitable. This movie is a dvd screener...whatever that means. All I know is that I downloaded it and encoded it like I do any movie....Do I need to download another software from your site in order for the virtual dub to open up the video file? thanks. Cirsinn
Xvid Codec - http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/codecs_and_filters/xvid.cfm Also get this if you dont have it - http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/codecs_and_filters/divx_3_codec.cfm For that codec, once its installed, find it in the start menu and open "run me first". Also there should be no decompressing. Click video and click direct stream copy. Direct stream copy should be already set for audio but check anyway!
