    hi all!
    I am having a problem.

I have serveral AVI files that I need to burn to dvd.
    each one is 35xmb

Nero Vision Express lets me make the menu ok, simulation of menu and video ok, but when the dvd is burnt the menu still works, but video file is a blank (black) screen?

Any ideas were I went wrong at all? anyone???

yes I am now on the newer version and now i have now used a avi to dvd convertor , giving me a different problem....

the dvd has burnt fine but when played back the picture is kinda jumping like not enough fps.

anyone know a good convertor from avi to dvd....?

I burnt it at 4x should I have burnt it at 1x?

sounds like time to look at the nerovision log to see what the underlying cause might be. search your hard drive for nerovision.txt and paste here and make sure to EDIT OUT yur serial number(s) which usually begin with '1A21' or similar

i didnt rip the file from nero, I used a package called DivX to DVD Convertor then burnt it with nero.

I have also upgraded the firmware on my writer to the latest version, its a pioneer dvr-106 v1.08

when i go into nero vision express it wants to decode it again although the file has been converted to the dvd standard.

so i guess I am being thick somewhere along the line

ah i see, glad you replied as i'd only made half the logfile request, this is what i missed - post LAST section of your Nero log, which is in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log, but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar
