I am getting real sick and tired of this software. Creaky has helped me out a bunch here but its one thing after another.

1 folder with 65 videos in it (avi, mpg and mpeg's). Add all the files, create the menu and transcode. FREEZE, LOCKUP.

I narrowed it down to 1 file, its a 50 mb mpeg. Why in the hell is Express freezing on transcoding certain mpeg's?

Dont want to use WinAVI to convert it to WMV or AVI because the quality goes to crap. Found the Nero SMCPatch that seemed to be causing problems with folks with this mpeg issue - still freezes after installing and rebooting

After having to control-alt-delete and have to manually shut down Express (abort button wont shut it down), I re-launched Express, this time not adding all the files but just the one mpeg (not mpg) that was causing the hang, added one menu and try to transcode - at the very end of the video it friggin STOPS TRANSCODING. Why?! Is this a mpeg/Express problem?

Rather then wasting more flippin DVD's, I'm 'writing to a folder on the desktop' rather then burning it to a DVD and making more coasters.

Why in Gods name is Nero such a pain in the ass?
    Please help.

hi again, glad to see you're at least homing in on the problem. can you not try something like vso's divxtodvd for just that one mpeg, and get nero to do the rest. also, have you used 'gspot' on that particular mpeg in case it's missing something ? - http://www.headbands.com/gspot/

    Thanks Creaky :)

I just used DivxtoDVD for that one file. I'm inserting (replacing) the mpeg with this new converted VOB. Going to try Express now, build one menu with this one VOB and write it to a folder and see if it works (the transcoding proccess).

Will be back.... for sure :)
