Hello! I'm new to burning DVDs and have run across some problems. I used DVDShrink and both DVDDecrypters to get my movie going and with no problems. However, it's when I am about to burn the ISO file to my disk that it doesn't work. With DVDD, it says "Device Not Ready (Medium Not Present) at the bottom. I tried CloneCD and it tells me to put in a blank DVD, which is already in the drive. Here is some information: My drive is a Phillips DVD and I tried to look up "firmware" (which I don't know if I even need or not), but couldn't find it out. As well, I am attempting to use Maxell DVD-R disks. Can someone please help me????
Thanks for the response! I attempted to do this, but it never worked as it said "Bad Gateway" and kept timing out on me......... I do get this message in the log when I start the program: W 20:59:03 Drive D:\ (FAT32) does not support single files > 4 GB Thanks for the help, it's much appreciated!

How to convert a FAT volume or a FAT32 volume to NTFS? ***Note Although the chance of corruption or data loss during the conversion is minimal, we recommend that you perform a backup of the data on the volume that you want to convert before you start the conversion.*** To convert an existing FAT or FAT32 volume to NTFS, follow these steps: 1. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Command Prompt. 2. At the command prompt, type the following, where drive letter is the drive that you want to convert: convert drive letter: /fs:ntfs For example, type the following command to convert drive E to NTFS: convert e: /fs:ntfs (Replace "e:" with the drive letter you are converting) Note If the operating system is on the drive that you are converting, you will be prompted to schedule the task when you restart the computer because the conversion cannot be completed while the operating system is running. When you are prompted, click YES. 3. When you receive the following message at the command prompt, type the volume label of the drive that you are converting, and then press ENTER: The type of the file system is FAT. Enter the current volume label for drive drive letter 4. When the conversion to NTFS is complete, you receive the following error message at the command prompt: Conversion complete 5. Quit the command prompt.
tannie have you tried to get the firmware via dvd decrypter? if not just right click on your burner in the drop box and at the bottom of the menu there will be an option fo firmware update click on this and it will help you to find the most current firmware take note though as you click onthe option there will be a window that will open and tell you what firmware you are currently using and remember to alway's make a backup of yourcurrent version! good luck and keep us posted!

i had the same problem as tannie (it says "device not ready (medium not present)) so, is the only thing i have to do is update my firmware one more thing: after extracting the file from the dvd, can't i just use a normal dvd burning software like nero to put the file on a blank dvd
Help...I have the same problem also...I have a NEC 3540A drive...I tried doin firmware upgrade for my driver but all I get is this japanese website: http://www.iodata.jp/cgi-bin/support/clib.cgi?code=dvrn16d_f100.exe I can't read anything on this page or cant even find a link to the firmware. To find your volume label, just right-click on your C drive in My Computer and Hit Properties. If it's blank, just simply hit enter when you try that convert command. If you're at the command prompt, VOL C: will also show you the volume label. The box inside the red box is your "Volume Label". (Screen Shot Below
hi can also rip in file mode if on fat32 then the biggest files are 1gig roughly not over 4gig restriction of fat32
alright sorry for relying late to this thread...I've just got back from evacuating from Hurricane Rita...so I just d/l that firmware and install it and thats it?? I'll give the firmware a try after I get rid of this pesty spyware I just found on my pc
hello 985boi glad to hear you were able to get the hell out j-met from earlier in this post was also affected by this storm so good luck to all and hope all is well!! anyway's you will probably need a flasher to get the drive to accept the binary code and usually found w/ the firmware update. keep us posted as to how you are doing!
