when I try to burn a dvd using dvd shrink and nero (demo) its stuck on 2.4 speed and it won't let me change the burning speed on shrink. My nero demo vs. might be expired. If thats the problem what can I do to correct this burning speed problem.

I think that if the demo is expired then it probably won't burn at all.

You need to have your blank disc in the drive before trying to set the burn speed. Your drive's firmware along with Nero will take a look at the blank disc and see what it can handle for the maximum burn speed. 2.4X may be all that it is capable of. You did not say if you were ever able to use a faster speed.

hello, thanks for the suggestions, the discs I use and in the past I've been burning at 4.0 speed with no problems, but the other day my computer froze up will playing a online game and I ended up unplugging my computer to get out of the sight and when the next I tryed to burn a movie thats when I noticed my burn speed was stuck on 2.4 burn speed. Any suggestions would be a great help in this matter. thank you.

Try running Nero's Regestry Checker and driver clean tools.

    I have it here:
    http://www.dvdplusvideo.com/Nero Toolkit.zip

Extract the tools and then click on the .exe to run.

You may also want to try a system restore if you have Win XP.
