Hey everyone, I have a suggestion

Could a new status be introduced between Senior and addict, Because I'm a lifetime away from becoming an addict.

It would give fellow members somewhere to aim for before becoming an addict. Because I bet Half the senior members give up because their miles away

once you reach 850 you become an advanced senior member

    Just a thought

Oh well. The ones who enjoy aD don't post for the status. They post to help.

Your statement is why I was against the rankings based on posts. It really should be how it used to be ... Seniors and Addicts were recommended and hand picked by the Admins.

I also post to help as that thread shows http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/229385

but it was just a thought for those who do post for status I feel it would push them on. I don't see my Senior Member title as a bonus. I see it as a milestone. And so others can see i contribute alot to these forums

If an advanced Senior Member was introduced it would show other members that we have reached another milestone

I say screw off. If the status makes you feel good, whatever.

OMG, big mistake. Not another of these threads. I remember dRD saying he would ban whoever mentioned ranks again. Before this becomes a huge long thread with people posting their opinions to the right and left you two should just reach a concensus and have this thread closed.

If your life is so pathetic that achieving a status with no real world value on a site on one little spec of the internet makes you feel special then you should seek professional help.
But if you recieve gratification from the "thank you's" and the simple fact that you were able to help someone resolve a problem then the title below your username won't make a bit of difference. Anybody knows that these days on afterdawn, that title doesn't mean crap, as anyone with too much free time on their hands can make addict within a couple of months.

And why in the world would we want to encourage these people by adding a new rank? They're the ones that post crap like.... "I agree with him" and "yeah, listen to booger, he knows"....

And kinza is right, close this down before it gets ugly.....

    Hey stop quoting Nephilim!!! lol

Well actually there is hopefully something in the works. dRD is trying to introduce some kind of merit system.

Not sure how ... but it is to recognise those members who are truley helpful on afterdawn. Kind of like how it was somewhat of a reward to be chosen to become a Senior or Addict before the rankings got changed based on post count.
