ok, so i bought a dvd burner, a pioneer dual layer 16x16. personally, i have no idea what that means, but my friend at best buy told me i should buy that one. i have many movie files on my computer that i want to burn on dvds to make movies that will play in my dvd player. (i even know that i need dvd+r, not dvd-r) the problem, however, is that my files are all in the wrong format. i think. i go to try to burn a movie, and when i try to select the file i want, the program i use to burn dvds says that there are no fils in that location. obviously there are, and i'm thinking that they just need to be in another format and then my burner will recognize them. accordingly, i searched for media file conversion programs, and downloaded a few free trials. the problem with that, though, is that they only convert, like, 1/2 the file. so i dont know if it's what i actually want, or if it'll even do what i want it to do. if anyone has any ideas here, that would just be super. i cannot figure this out for the life of me, and i really want to burn these movies and get them off my hard drive, cause they take up a lot of space. thanks!
hi your pioneer will burn +R aswell as -R, -R being more comaptible to players than +R. alot of people will booktype there +R to dvdrom, which is more like -R for the said reason above. if you could tell us what file types you have re: the format type, then we can offer suitable apps to do the jobs needed... welcome to AD
