I been trying to burn a movie and have followed the directions on here, using DVD Decrypter, and CloneDVD. EVERYTHING works and the CD gets finished but when I go to play it, it will NOT work!!!!!!!! I click on it and I get no option to play it at all, also my DVD player will not read it when I insert it! Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks ~ Tone
are you using a DVD player software to watch it? I am asking cause I guess I dont understand what you mean on I click it but dont get an option to play it. Also your DVD home player might not be compatible with burnt DVDs. Or you can try to download DVDShrink which is free and use that to compress the DVD and then burn it.
Dear Tone23, I guess a burn is successful only when you can actually play and view the movie? *_* Anyway, can you give us more details (e.g. what are you trying to burn, why use Decrypter and ClondDVD together)?
Tone23: Try to give us a brief rundown of exactly the procedure you used. In order to diagnose the problem, we need lots more info. Which programs did you use, from start to finish, and in exactly what order. Did you use CloneDVD and also DVDDecrypter, both? Or, did you mean you tried each as separate experiments, on different attempts? Also, give us the type of media you are using. This may (or may not) be important. (It is especially important if that media is truly a CD, and not a DVD). Were these DVD-Rs? Were these DVD-RWs? Were these DVD+Rs? Were these DVD+RWs? Brand and/or manufacturer may also be of some use, depending. And, it may also help to tell us what kinds of standalone players you have (since some models will only play DVD-R discs, while others will only play DVD+R discs, while others will only play DVD+R discs if they are booktyped to DVD-ROM status... Finally, it would also help if you told us what DVD playing software is installed on your PC, since it sounds as if the ripped version on the hard drive could not play on that software, as well... To find this out, if you do not already know, you could try to play the original disc on the PC, and take note of what software is playing it (Windows Media Player? Roxio? Nero Showtime?) The more info you can give, and the more detail you can give, the more likely you are to receive an answer which is precise, and meaningful, and correct. -Bruce
First Off THANKS for ALL the reply's!!!! Sorry for the LACK of info, I am a newbie so please forgive, and bare with me. I used Inter Actual as to play the DVD, thats what pops up when I put a DVD in the drive. I do have NERO but never updated it but after further reading on this site I will upgrade. I thought you had to use decrypter and clonedvd together, that why I used them both. What I mean by it wont play is when I put the DVD into the player nothing pops up, and then when I click on it it just shows me 2 folders, Audio_TS - Video_TS ... Secondly, I did use a DVD+RW NOT a CD that was my mistake!!! The DVD I am using to burn is Hypermedia 120min video, data 4.7gb[freebie's]. They are DVD+RW ... this is what I followed exactly to TRY to burn the movie, http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/full_dvd_to_dvdr_with_clonedvd.cfm Thanks Again Fella's ~ Tone
Khypermedia disc are low quility media. thats could be the reason it isnt playing on your home DVD Player. Also try starting the DVD Player program itself on your computer and then open the DVD to be played. Maybe for some reason your DVD Player isnt autostarting the DVD
Dear Tone23, First of all, I presume that your original dvd can play, but it's only the burnt copy that wouldn't play, right? In that case, may be you should start from the beginning by checking whether you can burn at all: Try insert the original dvd, then run Decrypter in file mode. Next burn the dvd to a harddisk folder, and see if you can play the movie from the harddisk.
Thanks Again Guys, also THANK YOU to the Mod who change my title, I was tying to change the title but couldnt figure out how. I will try and burn it to a folder and see what happens, then get back al of you! Thanks Again ~ Tone
OK, I burned the DVD to my PC and when I go into the folder theres only clips of the movie. I click on one and it plays but the whole movie is not there!!!! The folders name is Video_TS. Thanks Again ~ Tone
Try compare the no. and names of the files under the Video_TS folders of the original dvd and the harddisk copy and tell us what you see. If they're all there, try click on the 'Video_TS.ifo' file of the harddisk copy to see if you can view the whole movie.
OK Fella's, IT WORKS!!!!!!! I dont know why but I tried it in my Daughter's room on her DVD player which is the newest one in the House and it worked! So maybe the DVD player I have is old and cant read it but it works!! MANY THANK YOU's to all who have contributed to this thread and willingly gave a hand!!! You guy's ROCK! Thanks Again Take Care ~ Tone
You are right your older DVD player probably does not support the format you used. Check this site for what your DVD player accepts in the form of media. http://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers
