Try convert to dvd compliant format directly from avi. If winavi still doesn't work, try VSO DivxToDVD (free version) instead.

    Good luck!

So there were no error messages? Were you able to paste the avi onto the programs?

When you paste the avi onto VSO, the log window would definitely show something. What was it saying?

O.K., still can't figure out why VSO is showing nothing.

Anyway, here's one more trick you can try:

Use Power Video Converter or X Video Converter to change the codec of the avi (set video to XViD and audio to Mpeg Layer 3).

If you can do this, then use VSO or winavi again.

Yes, like I said, try set video to xvid, and audio to mpeg layer 3.

So you did have some success? Are your avis downloaded? If so, you may want to check for error with e.g. DivFix first. But be sure to backup your avis before correcting for errors.

I think you'd better check whether your avi files can be perfectly played by WMP. Actually,I used winavi to convert files to dvd for a long time, and never experienced any problem!
By the way, if the problem still have not been solved. Maybe you can contact at support@winavi.com to find solutions.
