what is the process to make a copy of a copy. do i still have to use dvd shrink and go through the whole process... encoding..etc... or can i just go straight to nero and burn a copy..
Single drive or Dual drives? Single Drive: You can either re-rip it using dvd shrink just like an original dvd.Since that first disc is of the right size-no compression is needed. My preference for single drive without any files,Use dvd decrypter in Iso mode. Iso read to hard drive and ISO write-Locate the MDS files and burn to blank disc. Dual Drives: Dvd shrink-Just like a normal original. Nero Disc Copy: You can also use sonic/roxio/ and most other disc copy programs. It's a little riskier but looking at these next tips,it will be the fastest way and I have no issues with it.Nero takes me 15 minutes vs 20 mins for sonic. Re-Ripping backups:Make sure you have as few of errors as possible on your backups to be able to re-rip them later. 1) Make sure you use the finest quality media,no cheapo stuff. 2) Keep that burn speed below 4x on that quality media.2.4x for me. 3) Keep Backup target below 4360 mbs. Keep the burn away from outer edge! 4) No multi-tasking. Leave your pc alone and let it do its job. 5) Keep hard drive/s defragged 6)Keep the spyware and virus's off your pc. 7) Quality burner. Some of the generic/low quality burners will have trouble re-ripping backups. You want a good burner/booktyping capability is an asset/along with a strong dvd-rom.If your dvd-rom don't recognize a backup,it won't be able to rip it.If your burner gives a lot of errors using the quality slow burned media, you won't be able to rip them.
No need to go through Shrink again. Any disc copy program will copy a copy. Its already decrypted and sized properly. Jerry
my usual suggestion for copying from copies is to simply copy/paste the video_ts folder to hard drive via windows explorer then burn in Nero, obviously you could use decrypter as a burn program or a.n.other...
