Not sure what you are asking, just open your Nero Start Smart and under applications on the left side just click on Nero Burning Rom and it will open.

@arniebear, friend I have a quick ? I was making a backup of one of my Star Wars movies. I'm using Recode 2 and after I do just a movie only job the files are too large. It was to compress the movie and it did except that it was still too large by just a fraction. Even the bar that goes up to the 4500 was maxed, but not beyond. Shrink never had this problem. I checked the box fit to target which is set for single layer 4.7 GB. Any ideas, am I getting too close to the outer edge of the disk? ANy info can help and I'm sorry to say that I did not save the log. I knopw I should have, especially when situations like this arise. I would appreciate any input. Themovie is Star Wars II: Attack of the Clones. Compression was at 72.5%.

Just below the check box is the drop down menu for disk size. Did you select custom and type in a number such as 4360 or 4300 first?

I use Recode for all my backups and I set Custom to 4,300 so as not to burn on the edge. I am not saying that this is the problem, but I would try that first and see what happens. :)

I usually go with 4300, I use good media and a lot of TY and really don't worry too much about burning to near the edge. I just leave a little just in case. If it was cheap I would have recommend going down to 4200. I backed up that movie using the old Xcopy it came out pretty good. Then backed it up again to dual layer and it came out even better, lol. Happy burning, my friend :)

Thanx scubabud and arniebear. I'll set it at the 4300 and run it through again and this time save my log file. I really like this program and just seeing what it can do. I also have back it up on DL, just wanting a separate backup for the other room. I like to learn. Thanks and have a good night. I',ll let you know how it turns out.

@scubabud and arniebear...Working great. Burned the movie and it looks great on my HDTV 16X9. Quality is so important to me...that's why I really like Rebuilder with CCE Basic, but for time sake I like Copy 3, CloneDVD 2 and now add to that Recode 2. arniebear you mentioned the new nero 7, do you have any idea what Recode will be like, even if it will be called recode? Just asking! Haven't heard. Have a good night and again thanx for all the help.

Glad your burn turned out good. Have not heard much on the new Nero, they are really keeping it hush hush. Guess they want to have some big unveiling. I just hope it does not have a lot of bugs, or they just finally fixed a lot of the old bugs, and decided to call it Nero 7 and get more money out of me, lol. Have a good one.
