making your own dvd from cpu?

    i got files stored on the cpu, my friend said he made his with the files being in mpeg format

    any format work?
    and any free programs out there to help me out

    i currently run decrypter and shrink for my burning of movies

    If mpegs are what you have, try encode to dvd compliant format with e.g. VSO DivxToDvd (free version), then burn with e.g. Nero.
