Can someone tell me why it is taking me 5 to 6 hours to burn a dvd. Is there a faster way to burn. The method I use is Dvd Shrink then Dvd Decrypter.
It usually won't take that long. If you're just copying a dvd5, then it'll be well within an hour with Decrypter. What have you been burning?
Does it take 5 to 6 hours to actually burn the dvd or just to decript it. If you had a really old computer the decription process might take awile. If its the burning process that takes that much time good luck. Even at 1x it should only take an hour.
Enabling DMA for your drive(s) and your hard drive(s) will also help you out... For more information: http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/checking DMA.pdf
The most commen problem with slow ripping and burrning is that your drive fell out of DMA mode and into PIO mode so check that first. Do this by going to: device manager then click on the IDE Channels in the list then click on the advanced settings tab and it tells you there what mode it is in. If it is in PIO mode then try selecting the DMA mode in the drop down menu to see if it will let you change it. If that dosent work then you will need to uninstall the drive then have windows reinstall it and that should put it back into DMA mode.
click on my comp>[bold]control panel[/bold]>system>[bold] hardware>[/bold]device manager[/bold] click [bold]ide/atapi controllers[/bold](OPEN THE TREE) right click [bold]secondary ide channel[/bold]>properties>[bold]advanced settings[/bold] =DMA??? as stated above,if the PIO and DMA is greyed out, unistall the ide channel which controls the drives and re-boot btw,if you are using an external burner you wont have the option of turning DMA on,and the problem lies elsewhere
If your using windows XP the control panel option is to the left of the window when you open the comtrol panel up. It is not in the list of where your Hard and DVD drives are listed..
