Okay, seems alot of people have had this problem... my turn. Creating bios cd and xbox doesn't recognize it. No surprise, right? Okay, I've tried using Sonic's RecordNow using Memorex CD-R's and Memorex DVD+RW's. My dvd burner doesn't recognize DVD-r's or -rw's so that's out of the question. My question to you is what do you think the problem is, the CD type or the dvd burning software? I tried downloading a trial version of Nero, but it says my trial version has already expired, but i've never used nero... joy... I look forward to your reply's. Thank you.
Neither,(unless very poor quality media) the problem is [bold]User Error[/bold] I have yet to find an xbox that won't read cds or dvds I've created.Your just not doing it right. The xbox needs to be modified of course, an unmodified xbox is very picky with the media it will read.
Bohefus I have successfully burned dvd's and have played them on my computer as well as dvd player... the xbox seems finicky when it comes to format of cd. I am getting a copy of the bios i need from a friend. It worked on his xbox, we'll see if it works on mine. I'll find out what type of cd it is and see what happens. Thanks for your input, though.
well, it looks as if my friends cd's that work on his xbox don't work on mine... it's even a different type of cd. Okay...... I'm on an old xbox 1.0, ya think that could be the difference maker??? I'm so frustrated with this. This should be the easiest part of the whole process....
Like the guy above said, try a cdrw(name brand). If your modchip has FTP ability without a dash(Xenium and Executer3 do) you could FTP the bios bin image to your xbox hdd and flash your mod chip from there.
Well, I flashed it via FTP... thank you! However, I still have the problem of loading dashboards/slayer/etc... think I can do the same thing here too?
