Do you think a celeron processer would work in a dvr? WHat would the draw backs be? Do you have one running now?

With a hardware mpeg-2 encoding capture card, you can run a PVR system on a P3 800mhz. It's slow, but it will work.
I know of only one system using a P3 600, running a Linux distro and Myth.

Drawbacks: When you try an convert the data to another format, or try and do anything really, it will take alot longer.

celeron processors are cheap pieces of chunk designed for stupid people that don't know crap about computers

they don't have enough on board cash and will cause major headaches with most software get your self a pentium 4 or even a amd processor
