Is that a movie you are trying to backup (I don't know what animes is)?

I'm not familiar with iomega hotburn pro. Is that a burning rom or transcoding program?

Use this program and tell me the make, model, and revision of your dvdrw drive. Then click the media tab and tell me the media ID. http://www.vso-software.fr/inspector/inspector.htm

Sorry, I need more info to help get ya going. You can't just copy a dvd straight to a dvd5 unless it is less than 4.38 gb and doesn't have any css encryption. You will normally need a program like dvd decrypter to break css encryption and dvd shrink to compress it to a dvd5.

You have to have one of your blank discs loaded in your dvdrw and if you have more than 1 drive the drive with the disc in it must be selected in the drive tab.

Your firmware is outdated. Yours is 1.20 and the current is 1.22. This update will help your drive recognize more media and could be your problem or part of it. http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1623

Looks like your problem is most likely the blank media you are useing. Cmc mag is one of the worst media manufactures there is and causes more problems than any other media I know of. Try some better media.

Most any media will work for backing up files but for video reproduction you need good, proven, high quality media such as verbatum, taiyo yuden, maxell, sony mij, fuji mij (mij = made in japan), branded ritek ridata, Stay away from memorex, HP, phillips, no name, and retail store branded media eg. staples, compusa. Keep the burn speed to 4x.

I couldn't get anything on 1.22 either. Website is down. Flash your drive with the 1.21 for now and try the 1.22 later. When you flash you drive with updated f/w make sure you follow the directions carefully, don't have a disc in the drive, don't loose power or power down your pc, and if you have more than 1 drive make sure you select the correct one.

Good luck and good night. Bed time for me.

I know jr's still my man. He's out of the chase this year but maybe he has learned his lesson and will get his shite togather next year.

I don't do much with data format so my answer would have to be not much.
