you need to be a game developer or at least close to one to be able to create any game for any platform.

let me ask a couple of my friends who are game designers and ask specificaly what you need to be able to create a game.

Yeah, don't just expect an application to do it all for ya. Maybe theres something like Net Yaroze or something?

OK, I asked my friends that are game designers what you need to create a PS2 game and I highly doubt (Im not doubting your skills) that you are ready for this if you have to ask.

First off you need a 3D program such as MAYA, next you will need PhotoSHop for textures and also you need a game engine. In order to get this game off the ground your gonna need a PS2 licence which is probably a billion dollars to get, and after that there are a probably a few other utilities your gonna need but I can't think of them right now.

But good luck if your gonna create a PS2 game, you would have a better chance at creating a PC game instead.

Am pretty surprised that there not more software needed it all sounds rather doable with the right skills (more than likely the million tasks in between would make it hard :), for a PS2 licence well ya would be better off finding a publisher like EA or Activision that already has the PS2 licence (unless you make the 1st pirate Ps2 game without a licence :) and then just pay another game maker to use there game engine and your flying.

There also RenderWare for creating Ps2 games but low & behold Criterion Software own it which is owned by EA.

ther are more software involved but I can't remeber them, my friend kept going on and on and I couldn't write anymore :p

    OOHHH YYYEEAAAHH.

It's not that easy to get into a company that creates PC, PS2, GC, and XBOX as I was told, my friend created a few maps for UT2004 and didn't get a job and he has a game design degree.

Yeah it is a pretty cut throat world out there but there's always that slim chance that you could pull it off. I reckon the PC route would be the easiest as a lot of PC software has been picked up by the sharks (company's) in the past
