I am a teacher and would like to start using small clips from DVDs to help emphasize points in class. I am hoping that someone can suggest a good tool for ripping clips to AVI-type files that I can then incorporate into a powerpoint classroom presentation. I have tried quite a few of the "free trial" products on a 'Monty Python & Holy Grail' clip. In particular, there is a scene that epitomizes poor communication: the king tells his guards to not let his son leave the room, which they can't seem to understand. These products claim that you can extract a rip from a designated start time to an end time. The results were very poor, and often the sound track was way off from the video. Perhaps I am just doing things wrong. This is all new to me, so I welcome any suggestions on how I can get smarter at this. Any ideas? Professor
which tools did you try? DVX will let you select the framerange which to encode to avi cant remember if gknot let's you do this as well
There were 4-5 programs. I think they were AoA ripper, A1 ripper, Magic ripper, and I can't remember the others, sorry. When I was originally trying to research this are, I had found reviews for each that said they could pull out clips without having to rip the entire movie.
