Hi, can you help? I've tried several different brands of media, and I keep getting the same error messages...Could not perform start-Of-disc-at once, and Illegal disc. I believe I have the newest versions of Dvd Shrink and Nero, I've checked the DMA settings, reinstalled the drive, checked for driver updates, and even cleaned the drive. Is there anything else I could do? Thank you so much for any help you can give me...Here's the error log:

    Welcome to aD!

From your log here's three problems:

Make sure all drives are in DMA mode. Here's a link for help:
    http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/checking DMA.pdf

Your latest firmware is 1.72. Up date that. Your drive can see that you are using a +RW but it can't tell who the manufacturer is.

Means your drive doesn't like the media used. A firmware update should help this.
