Toward the end of a couple movies i've copied (Blow and Hitchhikers Guide) everything turns into big green squares. The movie keeps playing but with what kind of looks like giant green pixels, then if i back up the movie to any point before the green squares started everything has the squares. I've had the problem with Nero and DVD Shrink My burner is a Samsung TS-H552U I'm watching them on a PS2, but i've watched tons of movies my brother burned on it with no problem so i don't think its that I've had the problem with both Sony DVD-R and Fugi DVD+R (the ones from japan) Thanks in advance for any input
You could try burning at the next slower speed. I run into that all the time with (S)VCD. I never burn video CDR faster than 16x. With DVDR though I've been able to burn at full speed without those artifacts so you might try different media. I've had no problems burning at 8x with Ritek 8x DVD-R from www.supermediastore.com. Plus the prices are usually better than the computer store.
Playback problems at the end of movies is usually because you burned too close to the edge of the disc. Set the target size in Shrink to 4300. That allows for some extra room at the disc edge. If the problems are all the way through the movie then try the other suggestions and make sure you use top quality blank media. Shut down all programs that auto start at bootup like antivirus and don't multitask or web browse while burning. Check your system for spyware and adware also. Jerry
