I have a movie that i want to burn and i got the subs working. I put the .srt file in the same folder and i renamed it. It works perfect when i play it on windows media player. All i need to do now is burn it on a dvd and have the subtiles show. I'm using nerovision express to burn it as a dvd-video but when i preview the movie the subtitles don't appear. I don't want to waste a blank dvd so can anyone help me burn this so i can play it on any dvd player and have the subtitles appear.
There's 2 approaches. Burn the subs permanently into the output video, or encode them as selectable subs in your DVD. If the input video type is supported you can do it either way with TMPGEnc Plus and VobSub. For a guide, google on "DvdAuthorGui guide" and you should get a step by step how to encode and author from .avi to dvd with subtitles and optional menus. Basically if you leave the .srt file in the same folder as the input video, TMPGEnc will pick it up and burn it in. If you want selectable subs, move the file to the folder for the video output files and use DvdAuthorGui to put the subs in when you author the DVD. See the guide for the details.

Well Estad, i take offence to that remark.... This thread is NOT just limted to the person who requires help, but to those who are in similar difficulty... It seems to me that if i share the same problem as the person who created this thread then there would be NO POINT in creating a new thread with the exact same question...and at rhe same time risking receving no answer as as the question has already been posed. firstly, i didnt mention that your remark didnt make any sense so, i dont know where your coming from when you said, "Well, Your post dont make any sense either then"... Secondly, i felt the question was a bit general, and seeing as the question was put forward, i would have found it a bit more helpful if i could ask the person who posted a reply maybe a specific question to help clear up a few things that i was unsure of. And, lastly, if you bothered to read the reply to you properly you would find that i said, "it has to be a newbie that has to put forth a silly comment like that", nothing to do with the fact that im a newbie too... Now, im not going to continue getting into a damn debating match, i've figured out how to put subs on a video file, so say your peace..i've said mine and get this thing over and done with.

like i said though, i dont see the point in creating a new thread if the same question has been asked. if no-one had given me a reply then fair enough i see your point (then i would need to create a new thread) but as someone had given an answer i felt it would of been more helpful for me at least if i could get feedback as to what i did wrong (if you see my 1st reply), i was in a similar situation as to the guy who asked the question. we both were having problems with .srt files. He got his answer seems like he understood because he never replied back,I dont see the harm in what i done, i did a bit of searching saw the relevant thread and i thought this guy could help so i posted my question in there. But your right the thread is dead, a bit disappointed the guy didnt reply back. i would of appreciated the help...when your stuck any help is greatful right. I did PM a few people, but it didnt get me anywhere quick, and i dont know what the rules are in private messaging, i know another forum i use disapproves asking questions using Private messaging so i need to read the rules on that. but yeah , maybe i should thank you for at least giving me a reply.
